Report Card

As a Sulli leader I bring a positive attitude to class. I  always participate in the activities. I always respect everyone's decisions and ideas. In this class it is easier to work with each other since got to know each other more well. Also I like how this class kind of goes with the flow and allows us to be creative to do what interests us and that there are many different ways of being a leader that we can choose from. I am honest and have a strong commitment on a project that we are doing or even with something that I chose as an option. I value teamwork because as a leadership class that is one the strongest thing you have to look out for and be able to do. Ive found a lot of strengths amongst my self as well, such as finding my voice, and working as a team. There are many things I enjoy about this class. We all know each other more well in this class, we get to work with different people or people you don't normally talk to. I like how we get so many opportunities within school such as the Grade 8 Retreat and the Remembrance Day Assembly. I love how we get opportunities to help the community. The Little God Acre farm was a great experience as well as the picking  litter off the ground makes me feel good that I'm helping make a difference. The activities we do in class are fun. On the other hand I don't think I would like to change anything about this course because so far I had a very interesting experience.
I think my work habits should be a G and overall grade as an A because I dont go off task, I listen and I enjoy the projects or events we have to do

Gods Little Acre Farm

It was a really fun visit to the Gods Little Acre Farm. The tractor ride itself was very fun. picking up the pumpkins and carrots was a good experience. The pumpkins were a bit hard since they were heavy and had pricks on the stems so I had to be careful. Picking the carrots out of the ground was surprisingly way more enjoyable, where we got our hands dirty from the mud. It was horrible when we filled out the box with all the carrots we picked and the man was going to take it back then the box broke. This is a hard job since this probably happens very often and have to get a brand new box then fill it up again. I felt happy that I helped out and was given this opportunity. We helped give to the food bank and and this experience really caught my attention.

Grade 8 Retreat

Grade 8 day was a very good opportunity for us. The most important thing that went well with our group is that they started suggesting activities they wanted to play. This helped us because we got to now more of what they like and prefer to do and gave us more ideas. What didn't go so well was the fact that they were going out of control and hard to get their attention back. The strengths I found out about myself was that I more confident in front of new people when I am working with my friends, which helped me with my speaking skils.  I learned that everyone was different because there were people who listened and were doing what they were told and others did what they wanted to do , which gave us more experience on how to handle older students rather than what I saw in elementary. The moment I really thought I was leader was when I was trying to get the small groups into one big group and when we would finally get their attention to listen to us. The challenge for us was that both of our grade 8 groups would not listen and have their attention as fast as we thought we would. They wouldn't like any game we planned out and wouldn't participate at all. Amrit and Sahar were both very good at getting the grade 8 together and controlling them. Gagandeep and Kajol were great at explaining the rules and helping out the students.

My Final Portfolio Assessment


The year has come to an end and I learned a lot in Active Learning 9. I have learned how to take on the role of leadership, staying healthy and being fit.
I participate in the activities we do as a class. i have noticed that i found it more comfortable each and every time we would do something as a class, especially in the second semester I was willing to participate and try my best. I also tried my best to encourage others to keep themselves going and motivating them because I thought that was very helpful when I was being pushed to do the hardest I can. My attendance this whole year was great because I only missed out a day and also I am always on time to class with my PE strip, I have never forgotten my PE strip and I always change into other clothes after the block.

I help out in setting up the equipment and putting them away during activities without someone asking me to, for example putting up/away the nets for volleyball/badminton. I have a positive attitude for the activities we have to do and then somedays I dont feel well and dont want to participate but I still do not letting anyone else down and I end up enjoying it. I am honest when we are doing activities because if I werent the whole purpose of the game would start to fall apart and no one would enjoy it. Aswell as my fitness scores I keep them as what I got because I dont want to lie to myself plus that way I wont be able to see the improvements.

In fitness I have seen my improvements rise and then fall . For the t test, my best was 14.5s and my worst was 17.3s. I can hold a plank for about 2 minutes straight and can do 4 proper push ups. I still need to work on my push ups because I haven't seen a difference in them. In the first beep test I got 4.7, then 4.9, then 4.5 and the last one was 5.3. The third score was not my best because it was the first time back from a break and i didnt exercise daily during those days off. I remember last year when we did the hill run I had to take many breaks in between, but this year I only took one break and that was for the furthest set. My heart beat was around 45 beats in 20 seconds and I thought that was good. During the 30 minute run, I think I could have done way better but I still tried very hard and here are my scores:




Fitness has taught me that you dont try to top other peoples scores but your own scores. That is the only way to achieve and get better at something.
I have been eating really healthy since this last month because I want maintain that in  the future. I have three proper meals a day. Breakfast I have omelet, at lunch I have a sandwich and at dinner I have a good source of protein with a salad on the side. During breaks I make my own juice including  oranges, kale and almonds.

I've been doing blogposts since last year but this year i have written 4 posts. I think I have written a good amount to look back in a while and reflect on them. I have evidence, such as my beep test scores from both years and the amount of time it took me to do the 30 minute run to reflect on aswell. In the future I am planning to join swimming because that is very good exercise and it keeps you fit.

Therefore, I think I deserve an A for my final PE mark because the main aspect is to work hard, participate and motivate others.. and I think that I do all that. I am always on task and dont try to get out of something I dont want to do. Once again I have learned a lot in grade 9and I really enjoyed this years class and having Mr. Vaughan as my teacher!

In active learning I find it really fun and I am enjoying it so far. I am always on time and prepared with my PE strip. I give a positive attitude towards the activity we are planned to do that day which makes it even more enjoyable. When we are doing group activities I show leadership towards my friends and try to encourage them. I also receive a lot of encouragement from others as well and that really helps to push myself to do better and keep going. I remember that in the beginning of the year I used to give up more faster because I thought I could not keep going and I didnt believe in myself, but I realized now that I have worked towards changing that because it was for myself and I really wanted to improve my fitness. I did Improve a lot since the first day and i'm proud of that.

I know that I have improved and went up in my fitness. On the beep test I was always reaching and going forward, But after winter break I went very down and I only got 4.5. I think this happened because I didnt get enough exercise and I wasnt active during the break so my body wasnt doing what my mind wanted to. I wasnt proud of myself that day because I knew I could do way better  but I didnt try hard enough. I am going to push myself even harder on the next beep test we have. During the pond run I tried my best as well and at the end I was proud. When we were in the weight room and recorded how many steps we took on the pedometer I was working very hard to get to 2000 steps. I jumped rope in the first half, I got up to 700 steps when we were jumping rope. After we did the ladder and I got up to around 1000 steps. Lastly we went up and down the stairs and I reached over 2000. I got around 2472 steps at the end of the block.
I enjoy regular days when we are with our class. I thought it was fun when we played golf. I learned how to hold and hit the ball. I thought it was useful because when we go play outside of school you know what you are doing. When we did the dance on the last week before spring break, I learned a lot more about dance and the different types of dances that are out there. I didnt even know how to do Bhangra until we did it during the dance week.

I think I have learned a lot during the 8  months.
I think I deserve an A. because I try the best I can during fitness days and days with only our class. Since I put my best effort I have improved and grown my knowledge about leadership, staying fit and enjoying yourself!

March 5 interim report

in Active Learning 9 I think I have improved a lot since the first day up till now. I have always come prepared to class with my PE strip and am always on time.In the first few months, I didnt show much leadership towards my classmates and I have seen that change when I got to know more people. Also my participation has improved more within my class because i realized that before I wouldnt try hard and I would force myself to say that I dont like the activity. Then I actually enjoyed it once I started trying so I think it is just our mind that takes over. I encourage my friends to do the same because otherwise once you see someone not participating you want to do the same and that influences us in the wrong way.

In my Fitness I have seen a lot change as well. Each time in the beep test I always improve but one time when we had it I dropped down and only got 4.5. I think the reason was that we didnt have fitness for almost two weeks at school and i hadnt got any exercise outside of school either, so that made a big difference. That day I wasnt proud of myself because I knew I could have done way better. i liked the loco loco motion fitness. I enjoy it a lot because I can get a good fitness workout out of it.

I enjoy playing handball and I would also like to try playing badminton as a class or as a choice day.
I think I make the right choices for my diet because I know that I have fruits and vegetables and have three proper meals a day.
I am thinking of joining something in the summer because I need fitness throughout the whole year. In grade 10 we have PE only for one semester so for the other semester I need to join something in school or outside of school in order to maintain my healthy lifestyle

I have seen improvements in my leadership, participation and in my fitness so I think I should deserve a G for my workhabits

Semester 1- Report Cards

So far I am enjoying active learning. I think that it is fun and that I have learned a lot about being healthy and being fit. I come prepared every morning with my PE strip and with a positive attitude. I was late once and absent once, but otherwise I am always on time in the gym before the second bell. I participate in the activities we do each day I have PE. Sometimes I feel that I don't participate as much and that I should change that. On choice days sometimes there isn't a choice that i would like to do , but i still try my best and end up enjoying it. For fitness days I always want to try. That is because there is nothing preventing me from not trying and its up to me to make a decision of what I want to do. Plus I always want to try because it is for my own benefits, it wont effect anyone else so I want to do whats best.

Since the starting of the semester, I think i have improved a lot. Especially for fitness because I get to know how well i am dong. I set up a challenge for myself when we do the beep test. i look at what I got the last time we had it and try to score 5 or 6 beeps more. I got better each time starting from last year in grade 8.  also enjoy the other different fitness activities set up. There creative , challenging and fun at the same time. For example when we had to run down the stairs and up in the hub, while your partner was in the gym doing whatever was on the board. During Fitness days I know that I have tried because my heart beats fast and I am sweating a lot. On choice days I liked playing handball. It was fun playing with all girls. I would like to play badminton or volleyball as well. On other days I would like to play capture the flag. I've learned a lot about the weight room. I learned about how to use the equipment and what the purpose of them are. Plus what machine helps what part of your body. The yoga and medicine balls are very helpful too and there is many ways that you can use them. Most of the time when you are up in the weight room, you are independent and can do anything we like. I like to try the equipment and machines to see how to use them and how they work.

I encourage my friends to keep trying and not to give up. Sometimes the activity we are doing is hard and you dont feel like trying, but really we can all do it if you believe in yourself. if your friend encourages you and knows you can do  it, it motivates you more. I have been motivated and I would want others to be as well. I helped the grade 8s after their first beep test. They didn't know what the stations were for and where to go, so the 9s lead them through . I have helped set up and store away the equipments. when we were playing handball i helped put the nets away and the nets for volleyball when we played it.

During the past couple of years i have seen changes and improvements in myself. From the very first time I did the beep test I would get at least 1 level more each time. The scores taught me a lot. I didnt think I could make it further but I proved myself wrong. And for the hill /community run, I didnt think I was capable to run for the whole time but I pushed myself to do so. I have also made healthy choices in my diet. I drink lots of milk and water , and eat fruits and vegetables for dinner and lunch. For the future I want to join something during the summer break, most likely swimming. I want to be able to get exercise outside of school and when I am not in school.

In active learning 9, I think I deserve a B because I need to participate more in activities we do as a class. For the next semester I will make sure I will improve on that.
